His first feature film, “Mal día para pescar” (2009) was selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival Critics´Week. The film has participated in over 60 international festivals receiving thirty awards. It premiered in more than 10 countries.
“Mr.Kaplan”, his second feature film, received nominations for Best Latin American Film at the Goya Awards 2015, the Forqué Awards and the Ariel (Mexico) Awards and received 7 nominations for the 2015 Platinum Awards, including Best Film and Best Director. It was commercially distributed in theaters in 25 countries, and became the Uruguayan representative for the 2015 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
